Frequently Asked Questions: General
Q: How do I contact your tech support department?
A: RPMworld is free now. We do not provide tech support. If you have a question about credits you may have purchased in the past, please use the contact information provided with your PayPal receipt.
Q: I am behind a Firewall. Can I play RPMworld?
A: RPMworld will try to connect to the racing server using RTMP over port 1935, then on port 443, and then on port 80. If it continues to fail it will try HTTP over port 80. In rare cases you will not connect to the racing server and see no other challengers. Try to open port 1935 or allow all protocols over port 80. Please note that changes to your firewall configuration can adversely affect your Internet security capabilities.
Q: I never get my password by email, what's the problem?
A: The most common problems are: invalid email address given, your mailbox is full and not accepting new messages, spam software is rejecting our message. If your spam blocker is to blame, try whitelisting the rendition.net domain name and click here to resend your password.
Q: I want to get off your mailing list, how do I do that?
A:

We only mail newsletters to players that have logged in and played RPMworld. They can only do that if they provided an email address where we can send them a password. Sometimes players provide a bogus email address, and an unsuspecting person gets a "password email". If this becomes a recurring problem, please visit http://www.rpmworld.com/remove/

Please note that all players who actively play RPMworld agree to receive email from RPMworld as part of their membership. We must be able to email them with passowrd reminders, and important information. If a player removes thier name using the link above, they are removed from our email list unless they log back in and play.

Q: Do I have to purchase anything to play RPMworld version 4.x?
A: No. The first 25 races have always been free, and now we have stopped charging for additional races.
Q: Can I win money or prizes?
A: No. No real money ever changes hands, only points. Points have no value outside of RPMworld. Points can NOT be redeemed for money, prizes, or tangible assets. Points simply make up your score, and can be traded for virtual parts and cars. There are no prizes.
Frequently Asked Questions: Login Trouble
Q: Why do I get an "Illegal Characters" message?
A: Version 4 does not like certain punctuation characters, and "non-keyboard" characters. We will be happy to modify your user name to be compatible. Please open a bug report.
Q: Why do I get an "Offensive Words" message?
A: We cannot control the age of the players that join the RPMworld game, so we must do our best to prevent offensive language. In many cases we will be happy to change your user name to something more suitable.
Frequently Asked Questions: Race Track
Q: How do I prevent false starts in the track?
A: If you have a manual transmission, you should not shift into first before that last yellow light.
Q: How do I accelerate and shift gears?
A: The accelerator is the round button in the bottom, center of the race track screen. If you have a manual transmission, shift with the "up" arrow on your keyboard.
Q: How do I use NOS (nitrous)?
A: It is currently automatic if your fuel system has it installed, you gain power.
Frequently Asked Questions: Swap Meet
Q: Why do some cars have no engine, trans, or fuel system?
A: The swap meet is designed to mimic a real world swap meet. You can't be sure what you are going to get. This adds an element of risk that makes the game more realistic. We plan to upgrade the swap meet to help you identify the parts that are included with a car.
Q: Why do some cars have parts from the wrong manufacturer?
A: These cars have been modified by players who know a cheat or trick that can be used to create the "modfied class" cars. These cars typically go around 6.90 ET, and they are often marked with a yellow "M" so players know the car has been modified.
Q: I just added my part to the swap meet, but why can't I find it?
A: The swap meet is updated every 4 hours, so you may need to wait for the next update. Please remember that the swap meet may contain thousands of parts like yours, but only shows 500 total.. Don't worry, your part will eventually get displayed to hundreds, if not thousands of players.
Q: Why can I not use the back button, or right click the mouse when I am in the swap meet page?
A: Those features were disabled to prevent errors.
Frequently Asked Questions:The Garage
Q: How do I use the parts I buy in the swap meet?
A: Swap meet purchases are accessible from the garage area in the game.
Q: Why do I not see the car or part that I just got from the Swap Meet?.
A: The game can only show 50 parts or cars. You may actually have more than that, but those items are not visible. You can sell some of your parts or cars to make the additional ones show up. Try putting cars up for sale for 999999, if you can't get them back, at least they sold for a ton of points.
Q: Why can I only sell a car at the track, when I can sell parts right from the garage?
A: A vital part of a cars value is it's last elapsed time in the quarter mile (last ET). For this reason, a car can only be placed in the swap meet immediately upon finishing a race. That way the seller cannot make any modifications that would otherwise change the potential ET. Parts, on the other hand, do not display an ET when they are listed in the swap meet.
Frequently Asked Questions: Scoreboard
Q: Why am I not on the Scoreboard?
A: The scoreboard is updated every 4 hours, and only shows the top 500 players from that past 24 hours. It is possble to have an ET, Points, or Wins that qualifies for the scoreboard at when you log off at 3:00 pm, but you may not see your name until 7:00 pm. If you come back the next day at 8:00 pm, your name will be gone because you didn't play for 24 hours. In this example, your name was on the scoreboard between 7:00 pm one day, until 7:00 pm the next day.
